Garwin Dobbins suffered from a very rare disease called Myositis Ossificans Progressiva, a disease that turns muscles into bone. It is horribly painful and there are only about 350 known cases when this was recorded. In the Book of Hebrews it speaks about a ‘Joy that was set before’ Jesus that helped him to endure the cross. Through Garwin’s outlook on like and his faith, we see this lived out in the flesh. Through his story we see what life looks like when sorrow is turned to Joy! Garwin sings I Can Only Imagine.
